Encourages, and promotes, opportunities for parents to participate, and volunteer, in enrichment activities

Purpose:

A Better Choice Preschool, LLC highly values parent participation in a child’s early education journey by strengthening a child’s daily preschool experience. The Parent Council – similar to a school’s PTA – is a hands-on, non-governing body that encourages, and promotes, opportunities for parents to participate, and volunteer, in enrichment activities for students, families, and adults. The Parent Council also affords guardians the opportunity to meet other students, and their families, while advocating for A Better Choice Preschool’s strong reputation in Lee’s Summit. 

Expectations:

  1. --Establish and maintain lines of communication among families of Parent Council.
  2. --Possess the communication and interpersonal skills necessary to function effectively as a member of the Parent Council.
  3. --Respect the privacy and confidentiality of other members and their families.
  4. --Collaborate in planning, organizing volunteers, and executing classroom holiday parties which encourage family engagement and participation (Halloween, Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas, Valentine’s, and Easter).
  5. --Collaborate in planning and executing quarterly family and/or adult events which encourage parent engagement and participation.

Qualifications:

  1. --Guardian of a child who is a student at A Better Choice Preschool, LLC.
  2. --A Guardian is defined as a parent, grandparent, or other close relative of the child.

 

Funds are raised solely through payment of dues. Dues are $10 per family, and can be renewed each preschool year. Families can join Parent Council anytime throughout preschool year.
